ERNIE HUNT RECOVERY DIRECTOR
Ernie is a perfect fit to help those who are struggling with addiction, because he has overcome his own battles as well. As the Celebrate Recovery Director, Ernie understands those he ministers to, and what they are going through. He also knows and has experienced the redeeming power of Jesus that can pull anyone out of the pit of addiction and put them on solid ground.
20 years ago, Saddleback Church launched Celebrate Recovery. It was designed as a program to help those struggling with any kind of addiction or abuse – overeating, stress, worrying, sex, obsessive compulsiveness, anger, depression and a multitude of life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups – by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process.
“Welcome to the ‘Road to Recovery.’ You are in for an exciting and amazing journey as you take the hand of the true and only Higher Power, Jesus Christ, and walk with Him toward healing and serenity.” — Pastor John Baker founder of Celebrate Recovery
The Celebrate Recovery program involves 8 principles from the beatitudes of the New Testament. This program is distinctly Christian, uncompromisingly biblical, and proven to work within the church. It has clearly brought people together to discover a new level of care, acceptance, trust and grace. And, for those who seek to mature spiritually, making better decisions that will help them become Christ-like in character.
There is no sign up, reservation or cost (it’s free!). Be a part of this proven program that takes a Biblical approach to overcoming addiction.

CONNECT GROUPS
Connect Groups for people in recovery are valuable for the same reasons as they are for anyone else. The format may be a little different from a traditional Connect Group because the focus is recovery from whatever hurt, habit or hang-up the individuals are struggling with at the moment. The topic for the evening may be the weekly sermon, a Bible study, a relevant book or some particular recovery issue.
Potluck dinners are a great way to welcome a newcomer into the established group. The goal is to offer group support and come alongside each person as need be. For this Connect Group, trust and confidentiality are very important, and what happens in the group stays in the group. In addition to and in conjunction with the Saturday night program, it is a perfect vehicle to Celebrate Recovery.
Healing Journey is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences, the death of a family member or friend. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. Support groups are led by people who understand what you’re going through and want to help. Through videos, discussions and personal reflection, we’re here to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life.
