Serve Day is an amazing opportunity for all of us, the local church, to go into our communities and love our neighbors. On this annual one day of service, thousands of people across the country will take on practical projects to help others, and through these acts of service, we hope people’s hearts will be opened to the love of Jesus.

Anchor Church is part of the Association of Related Churches (ARC), the group that initiated Serve Day across the nation.  As we partner together with other ARC churches, we know that those who serve will be just as blessed, if not more, as those we serve.

Opportunities to serve in our communities abound if you look around you. From simple things that can be completed by one or two people to bigger projects that a Connect Group or other friends and family can tackle. Everyone can do something to share Jesus’ love and make someone’s life better, and our goal is that everyone that calls Anchor Church home would take up that challenge. Here are some ideas.

BACKPACKS OF BLESSINGS

You might be surprised to learn that more than 50% of our Kaneohe students are on the free or reduced lunch program. Even more families are struggling as parents face the very real challenge of providing the basic school supplies their children need.

Here’s your chance to make a huge impact on our local families and schools by doing something as simple as donating money to purchase supplies or helping out. There are several ways to participate.

If you or someone you know is in need, nominate them by filling out the form below to receive a free backpack filled with supplies.  Nominations are due by July 12 or as long as supplies last. We have 600 backpacks so get your nominations in early.

Donate $15 to cover the cost of a backpack filled with school supplies for a child in need (select “Anchor Dream Center Fund”).

Help with packing or distributing backpacks to the community at a drive-through event on Saturday, July 25.  Sign-ups and more information to come! Email Corbin if you’re interested.
